In 2006, he served as Manager of Community Services and Partnership of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) till 2011. He was then elevated as the Secretary of Department of Physics in 2004 for two years. One year later, he was appointed to be the Head of Electronics & Instrumentation Laboratory. His involvements in the institutional development of ITB were started as the Vice Head of Electronics & Instrumentation Laboratory at Department of Physics in 2001. He is also a member of Board of Researchers in the field of nanotechnology for drugs and foods at Research Center for Bioscience and Biotechnology, Institute for Research and Community Services, ITB. In addition, he is a member of Board of Researchers in the field of instrumentation for disaster management at Research Center for Disaster Mitigation, Institute for Research and Community Services, ITB. Finally, in the middle of 2010, he became a Professor of Physics of Materials and Instrumentation. Further promotion as an Associate Professor (Lektor Kepala) was received in late 2005. After having returned to home country, he was then promoted as an Assistant Professor (Lektor) at the same institution (ITB) in late 2001. To pursue doctorate degree, he then moved to Hiroshima University, Japan. In 1993, he was appointed as a Research Assistant (Asisten Ahli Madya) and elevated as a Research Associate (Asisten Ahli) two years later. He began his professional work as a candidate of civil servant (CPNS) in 1991 at Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), ITB.
